Ready to switch things up? Follow these steps to remove peel & stick wallpaper.

Prep

a plastic putty knife

razor blade or scraper

Move furniture away from the wall and remove any outlet covers.

On a low setting, use a hairdryer or heat gun to warm the adhesive behind the peel & stick wallpaper.

Gently lift the wallpaper from the wall, working in small sections.

For stubborn areas, use a plastic putty knife to carefully lift the edges. 

Wipe down the wall with a damp cloth to remove adhesive residue. If any adhesive remains after removing the wallpaper, you can use a mild adhesive remover.

Band-aid rules do not apply here. Don't tear or pull too hard, as this could damage the wall and leave scraps behind. And if damage happens, no biggie! Small imperfections can be easily touched up with joint compound, sandpaper and paint.
