Meet Jennifer Reid, the Sydney-based artist behind the designs in Botanical Bliss. Jennifer lives in the semi-rural Australian outback with her husband and two children, who are the loves of her life.
Before starting her design business more than 15 years ago, Jennifer worked various jobs – as a primary school teacher, retail assistant, finance manager and beauty salon owner. But it was a sobering cancer diagnosis that changed her career trajectory, which is when she started using art as therapy to get through tough times. She particularly found solace drawing pretty things from nature – like florals, birds and butterflies.
Jennifer believes art saved her life. It calmed her, helped her to hope and dream, and sparked joy in her darkest days. She is grateful to be one of the lucky ones – a survivor and thriver after two cancer diagnoses.
Today, creating beauty with art and design remains one of Jennifer’s greatest passions. She shares her passion for graphic design, digital illustration, interior design and surface pattern design with the next generation as a college professor. What more could a creative soul ask for?
